A hotel welcome card is often the first printed message a guest reads after check-in. The best cards feel consistent with the property, answer immediate questions and guide the guest toward useful services without becoming crowded.
Select a practical format
Postcard formats are easy to place on a desk or bed. Folded cards provide more room for Wi-Fi, breakfast, spa and local information. Small tent cards can remain visible throughout the stay. Choose the placement before choosing the size.
Paper and finish
Uncoated premium stock creates a warm, writable surface. Coated stock supports photographs and strong brand colors. Matte lamination protects the card and limits glare; soft-touch finishes feel premium but should be tested for scuffing. For pool or outdoor use, consider synthetic or water-resistant material.
Copy checklist
- A short welcome in the property’s voice
- Wi-Fi name and access instructions
- Front desk and emergency contact details
- Breakfast and checkout times
- A tested QR code for the digital guest guide
- Only the most valuable upsell or local recommendation
Artwork controls
Keep important text inside the safe area, add the supplier’s bleed and use high-resolution images. For brand colors, provide Pantone references or approved CMYK targets. Test QR codes from a printed proof at the expected viewing distance.
Ordering information
An accurate request includes finished size, flat or folded format, paper weight, finish, print sides, quantity, packing method, destination and deadline. If several properties share a template, explain which text and artwork change by location.
Before production, place the proof in the real guest-room environment. Check lighting, readability, color, writing performance and whether housekeeping can position it consistently.
